Tab Wrangler

Overview
I had the opportunity to redesign the visual identity and marketing images for Tab Wrangler, a browser extension that helps users manage their tabs on Chrome and Firefox. The goal was to give it a fresh, modern look.

Challenge
Tab Wrangler needed a logo that was modern, recognizable, and clear, even at a small size, since it would double as the browser extension icon. On top of this, it needed to be able to show indicators for different tab statuses (e.g., paused, locked).

Approach
In order to ensure clarity, I focused on simple shapes and lines. After an exploratory sketching phase, and presenting three directions to the client, we decided to go with a logo that combines the initials with a subtle lasso or hat, nodding to the “Wrangler” theme. It's distinctive and recognizable at small sizes, while also making it easy to update with status indicators.
For the visual style and marketing images, Tab Wrangler wanted something dark, modern and eye catching. This aligns with some of the current tech design trends, and helps give it a sleek, contemporary feel. I aimed for a simple illustrative style that’s both modern and engaging to communicate its features. The result is a cohesive visual identity that feels approachable yet bold.
